Rahador wood?

A fellow pen maker and friend came by last night with a block
(7"x4 1/2"x7 1/2") of wood that was labeled Rahador. I've tried checking
the internet to no avail. We are under the impression that it came out
of Mexico. I have some Mexican Dessert Iron wood and the block of wood
looks a lot like it.
Any ideas?

I got a block of this same wood from Carlton Mclendon in Atlanta. He bought it from a guy who got it in Mexico (apparently the same guy). I have not been able to find anything about it but am trying. I also think it looks like Desert Ironwood.
