reverse paintng or painting the tube of the Stars and the red Stripes blank.

As i was preparing the blanks, i figured i would paint the hole in the stars on blue blank blue and the striped red blank white, but i'm hesitant on doing so because i don't won't the stars to have a blue tint or the red stripes to be washed out by the white.

So, what have some of you that has turned those blanks done?
Any suggestions and help will be appreciated. Thank you

Depends on how transparent the blank is. I have never turned it.
I would suspect that painting the inside of the blank should be limited to white, but I don't know how that would affect the blue field. Or, maybe use a white tube.

After drilling the holes, i held the blanks to the light and i'm pretty sure the hole or tube will need painting

I did not take a pic. I put the blanks on an Ultra Cigar kit and it has been given to Ann Tarter. Some of our country folks may be familiar with Tarter Farm Products. They are one hundred percent American made in Kentucky.
