Proxxon DB250 Micro lathe

In addition to my regular lathe, sometime ago I bought a Proxxon DB250 micro lathe with the idea I could take it with me on trips and still turn a few pens. I find the going tough on Acrylics, Wood and Polymer Clay are ok. The whole lathe is flimsy, the tool rest moves around etc. Has anybody used one of these lathes for any length of time. Any tips (apart from throwing it away).

Possibly use it as a dedicated sanding/polishing lathe. Make it useful if you can or sell it.
