My wife thought she was doing me a favor and bought me a 22 " poulan 330 chainsaw. I can not get this thing to run for more than a few seconds before it dies. its brand new and I even broke down and read the manual twice. any help would be wonderful.

Sounds like the carb settings are not right. If you want to do it yourself, read about the carb adjustments section of the manual. IF NOT...have the store service it.

It is a good saw once you got the settings right. EVEN STIHL CAN EASILY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.

For teh record, I like both Stihl and Husqvarna.

Does it die at idle or full throttle? 2-cycle engines don't idle very well cold, so if you're starting it, releasing the choke and it dies, that's not unusual. You need to give it a little throttle and possibly fuss with the choke a little until it's warm.
