I picked up a pewter top at Hallmark for $3 (clearance) that is suppose to be a candle topper of some kind. I thought it would make a good potpourri top. So I pulled out an old piece of walnut and had at it. This is the result. A birthday present for my beautiful wife.

Nice turning. The wood (I think walnut)you chose has a great looking grain.
