So this was my first attempt at Les' polyurethane dip method. Big thanks to him for creating the Library article as well as all his info in the emails we went back and forth with. These 2 pens have a cool story some of you may enjoy. I made these two pens for our fantastic headwaiter on a recent Carnival cruise. (Hence the nautical kit on the first one.) He said his favorite port was San Juan Puerto Rico, which we happened to be going to. Knowing we had to get creative in order to bring wood back on board the ship, and back into the mainland US, we eventually found a native Cedar pestal/mortar that we bought and I was able to cut up. The second Sierra pen is some cedar from the property of one of the people in our group. Both were engraved with his name but I didn't photo that side of the pen. Very happy with the results!
