I was inspired by the pen Kasper recently made and since I have a lot of plywood sitting around I figures ...why not? This is made of shop stabilized box elder burl and plywood. The finish is 10 coats of CA and some Ren wax and is fitted on a black ti. long click.
Nice pen Neil. The segments are cool. Just when I thought I'd seen all the scalloping, you prove me to be wrong. The plywood and Box Elder work well together. I've always liked the idea of making a pen with plywood. Thanks!
Nice job on the scallops. I didn't think the plywood would hold up without chipping out. The"red" box elder is almost pink which is an excellent match for the plywood. Great pairing of materials.
Thanks you all, I have to admit that the fit of the segmenting is largely due to a small table saw I have, it is the most accurate saw I have ever used. The saw is a Byrnes and is just great for this type of work.
