Pinecone cast

Here is a pine cone that I cast in Alumilite and gave to my wife for valentines day. I finally got it back from her briefly so that I could take a picture and post it. The pictures are not the greatest but I thought it was a pretty good cast.

That was not the color I was originally going for. I was shooting more for the yellow. I ended up mixing mixol dye and some powder. The color kind of reminds me of camoflouge.

I have cast quite a bit of pine cones in Alumilite, but I have only used the Alumilite dyes and have had great success so far with them.
