This is the first attempt at Lake Arrowhead Pine Cone known as the Sugar Pine Cone. There are Plenty of errors on this one in the tolerance areas. The other issue, without casting, is the one side becomes soft and pithy while the back side is nice and hard. Makes the blank off center. It was stabilized with plenty of hot CA, but did not make it solid enough. Trying another tomorrow. One of the pine cone was long enough to make two complete pens.

Looks like a great pen. I just recieved a few large cones from Calif. and I hope to get to one of them soon. Any suggestions for a first timer at one of those?
