Pill Containers - problem

I'm not sure that this is the place to post this but I couldn't find anywhere that I thought this suited.
I've made some of the round pill containers from Berea (2 compartment with pop-up lid).
You turn a disc and glue it to the top basically. I used epoxy but the majority of the discs have come off. The discs are either acrylic or wood. Should I be roughing up the surface of the container? Am I using the wrong glue?

Jeff, I rough up the top of the box and use thick CA and I have three that I have made and no problem. Two going to a show next week and one in use.
