pendant Lace

HI,
just curious what everyone is using for the pendants lace? I'm looking at obtaining some leather lace either 1mm or 2mm from Tandy or ?? wherever I can find some at low cost. Or possibly some chain for a 'richer' look (Michaels??)
any thoughts?

We used hemp string on ours. Gave a nice "green" story to it. Yes, from Michaels.
