Pencil Mechanism Replacement

I'm new here and am quickly realizing the mechanical pencil mechanisms (slimline, comfort) are not worth putting in something that is to be actually used for the purpose intended. Unfortunately, I've made quite a few. Does anyone sell the pencil mechanisms separately? I'd like to just replace the mechanisms on the ones I use. It seems every part of every pen can be bought separately so I thought pencils would be the same.

I'm looking into the Pentel alternative...but there should be around the tube issue (7mm too small for the bottom).

The only other options I know are:

pentel conversion
SIerra conversion (http://content.penturners.org/library/pencils/sierrapencil1.pdf) and live without an eraser.
Design your own around a Schmidt pencil mechanism

I've done something similar to the Sierra conversion described above to an 8mm Euro pen. Works pretty good, but no eraser of course.
