One thing that I've noticed is that some of the pen kits come with plastic "shield" on the inside of the cap. For example, the Jr. Gent. Other kits don't. For example, the Artisan from PSI. I've been using one of these pens and the result of the exposed tube edge is that it scratches the nib and post.
It looks from the pictures that the Executive also has exposed metal that will scratch the finish. I like the Cambridge and assume the much discussed black ring is to protect the pen from scratching.
My question is this: For the higher end kits, which have the protection?
Has anyone else had problems with scratching? Thanks.
