Talking about the kits that have a cap that holds the clip on that screws into a bushing on the top of the pen.

I have found pens that the screw had loosened just a little and the clip can spin on the top. Do you put lock tight on that thread? I have some lock tight that is removable, it just firms up the grip of the threads on things that vibrates, you still can take something apart without heat or drilling out.

What do you guys do? How do you tighten the threaded cap, fingers, some kind of tool that won't mar up the plating? Do you use anything to fix it in place?

I don't see why loctite would not work, even though I have not used it.

I use a piece of non-slip rubber shelf liner as a grip to tighten the finial with my fingers. I have not had a problem with loosening or with marring the finish.
