PayPal Phishing Scam

The from email address was "@bill.county.com".

I called and reported it anyway. My account was fine.

Funny how it is coming on heels of other possible scams. Maybe, the crooks are getting back into the swing of things after the holiday rush.

You can forward the email directly to Paypal by using the following address.

Spoof@paypal.com

They will investigate it & give you a case number.
After a week or two, they will usually send you a follow up email
saying it was indeed fake & thanks for helping them.

My experience over a lot of years is that PayPal never sends an email asking for you to link to their site. They always tell you to login and go to wherever the problem is.
