Our first one piece

My wife (Dalebeas) and I made our first one piece slimline out of spalted white oak. This was a lot simpler than I thought it would be, we even had a Colt drill bit long enough for the job.

Tried another on today in some burl from Rockler. The tag on the block neglected to say what KIND of burl, but it looks pretty nice. Had a blowout at the top of the pen but I found the chunk and glued it back. You can see the patch in the picture. It was odd, when I looked at the break there was glue on the tube and on the inside of the blowout so it was surprising that it let go.
