Nice first. Better than my first. I still pull mine out every once in awhile and want to return it but I let it be cause I want to be reminded how far I have come

thanks i done alot of reading before i ever got the lathe this site has so much info on it has really helped alot would have never had that kind of results without it

I think that is a great start. Looks like a nice CA finish too. Funny thing about CA finishes. Once you've done 4 or 5, you think you've got it down. Then a pen will give you all kinds of fits. And if you want a real challege, get some really punky spalted wood. And make sure you have a full bottle of thin CA. :wink:

Great job--wish I had something to be so proud of after my first attempt. Mine only vaguely resembled a writing instrument. Closer to a prison shiv, actually.
Well, it servers you right for copying my design.:biggrin:

Mine was a total mess. The 2nd one wasn't a whole lot better, but at least it will write.
