Not your grandmothers seam ripper

I have seen theses seam rippers around for a while now and thought I would try one for my mom who is a sewer.
Not wanting it to be a kit type I thought I would try to mix it up a bit and this is what I came up with.

That is beautiful. How did you mount the ripper? Can you show it open?

I just bought some toothpick kits. I'm going to try to put them in the handle of a seam ripper to hold needles. I'll let you know how it works out.
