I call this veneer design "noodles" for obvious reasons. This is my 'second' plate after my main dish which came to be known as spaghetti was cooked some while back. What you see here is approximately fifty (50) sheets of veneer (12"x12") wrapped around with industrial glue and 'volted' together on a high frequency press. The high frequency press literally 'fries' the veneer and adhesive together with electrical forces capable of immense power.

Bon apettit

Hi Peter,
I definitely like what you are doing with this technique. Veneer and glue...quite a unique idea. I like this one better than the nickel spaghetti. I think you are onto something and I look forward to the next iteration. Are you sure the the blank didn't spalt over night? Looks really nice.
Do a good turn daily!

Here I am happy if I can get normal wood to look good and you come up with this stuff. I like it and like Don I like this much better than the nickel spaghetti.

Peter, that is a way cool pen, and I also like it better than the nickle spaghetti, Looks like lots of time in the creation of the blank. Nice job.

I think that is one of the best looking man made blanks I have ever seen. Great work! Im sure many would love to get their hands on such a blank! (I know Im one!)
