New Toy!!!

Having a passion for old wood working machines, I couldn't pass this up for $15 and local!!! Right now she ain't pretty but definitely a diamond in the rough! Craftsman (King Seeley) table saw built in the mid to late 40's. Everything works very well and the trunion bearings feel nice and solid. Gonna clean her up, give her some new paint, and put her to work as a table top segmenting saw!

I sure wish you hadn't gone and said that. I was trying real hard to keep focused on a normal yet appealing paint job. Something like one of the new hammered metals.


Now I am wanting to decide between traditional or ghost!!!!!

There are still solid Cman tools. The Rikon made band saws, the zip code table saw, some routers, etc. But they sell crap too. Just like anything, do research and inspect the tool. Ask to try the tool on some wood. Keep a chunk of apple or something in your pocket in case they say yes!

That is a decent saw, does the model number start off with a 101.#### by chance? If so, that was an Atlas built one. The King Seely would be a 103.#### number. Let me know and I can tell who built it for you. (unless, you have already checked out the maker and I am wrong!)

Sweet score, a diamond in the rough for sure! Be sure to put an Amana Prestige blade on it (if it takes 10" blades) for the sweeeeeetest blade for segmenting woods.

Nawh, that small would be an eight inch saw, maybe a nine, but not a ten.

BTW, you have a nice fence on that one, the round bar style was no where as common as the flat bar.

Since I also have a few other "goodies", I lurk over at the OWWM site and already new the number prefix makes it a King Seeley. #103.0213, circa mid to late 40's. It's an 8" saw and the fence is still nice and tight!!

Greg. Here is a Craftsman saw that had a free sign on it just around the corner from me. The serial # on it is 103.0210. Sad to say there is no fence for it and I also think the sides are missing on it. My plan is to use it for segmenting too.
Also I picked up an old Delta Milwaukee jointer for 40.00.
