Finally starting to get my new shop close to being able to use it as intended. I ordered it back in January. It is one that is built off site and then hauled in. Poured concrete foundation for it. There are 2 piers drilled 2 ft. deep under each pad. There are a total of 6 pads. Man I hate mixing bagged concrete. Finally was ready to deliver and had to put that off for about 3 weeks due to getting rain and too muddy to deliver. Was finally able to accept delivery about 4 weeks ago. It is tied down on each corner like you do a mobile home. Got my electric done and got it underpinned. Poured my steps this last weekend. The lights are 4 LED 2x4 panels and are on a dimmer. They put out copious amounts of light when on full bright. Will be installing a mini-split a/c system after I get the walls insulated with closed cell foam. Then I can actually get some work benches built and start moving my lathe and stuff from out of the house. The boss lady will be so happy to get that dust maker out of there. It is a 12 x 24 building. Still have to build a ramp to the back door so I can pull a lawnmower or golf cart in to work on it. Floor joist are on 12" centers so plenty strong.

Great looking shop, Randy. Both my sons build these kind of building. They work for Graceland Portable Buildings.

Thanks. This is a Derksen Building. Built in McGregor, Texas factory.
I was so happy to get approval from the executive finance committee (wifey) to proceed with this. I will owe her big time for a while on this.:eek::eek:

Be sure to post more pictures as you go. Giving all of us some great ideas.

Be sure to thank the "boss lady" with a gift from the new shop.

Looks great. I'm in the same process right now. I wish I had put down piers like you did for your building.

I was definitely second guessing the piers when I had to mix 83 bags of concrete. The site was sloped some so the front ones were only 4 inches above ground, the back ones were over a foot tall. Got about halfway done and a friend told me he had a mixer. That definitely made things easier than a wheelbarrow. But glad I did it now. Building is solid as a rock. Shouldn't settle much if any.
