New laser engraver/cutter

So today I pre-order a laser engraver/cutter from Glowforge, which its suppose to ship in 8 months because it's on crowdfunding campaign right now. It was less than $2500 , once the printer is released it'll cost $4000. I think it is a very neat machine, easy to use. Anybody else has ordered this? I purchased mine October last year so I'm in line to receive it by the end of December.

I purchased mine when it originally started crowd funding, the super dooper model with all the bells and whistles, supposed to get it by the end of this year.

I think the general discussion around these has been that they are pretty far behind promised dates. Be careful and hold them to their promises.

Wow, that is pretty cool. I like the concept of using cameras for alignment of the piece.

I will try to maximize my $80 laser for awhile before I jump into the $3,000 model.

If you noticed the post dates you'll see that my first post date was July 10, 2016. Have had mine since October 2018.
