I can tell you personally, I have used this method for the last couple years. I was getting out of round pens sporadically and could not see why or how to fix it. Since I have changed to an adjustable mandrel, and checked my bushings, ALL my pens are perfectly round!! I could have saved LOTS of money in pen blanks, had I done this sooner!!
