The last couple orders for new kits have been delivered with brass tubes that have a "scuffed up" surface. Wondering if there's news on this that they don't require sanding. Anybody got the info?

Just received some PSI kits today and noticed that the tubes come pre-scuffed. But I still give them a brief scrub with sandpaper before gluing them end - I'm a belt-and-suspenders guy.

Yup, I noticed they started doing that. You don't need to do anything with them just clean them with alcohol and you ready to go.

I've made well over 10,000 pens and I've never roughed up a tube, never wiped a tube with acetone, and never had the glue (almost always CA) fail.

Maybe I'll sand the pre-scuffed tubes to make them slick and give them a few months to tarnish before I use them.
