Hi All,

Here are another couple of Burr Elm Bowls that I turned today.

The bowls are about 6-8" diameter.

Kenny,
Nice bowls!! I like the grain. On the 2nd and third pics there is a white spec between 7 and 8 o'clock on the rim that draws my eye. What is it? Buffing wheel or towel?

Kenny,
Those are very nice, like Bob says, the grain is beautyful. Is that wood a little bit spalted or is it the natural grain ?
The first more round one is the one i prefer,

Kenny,
I'm jealous.. I have a 50 ft elm laying in my yard drying.. it's an American Elm no burr or burl or anything like what you have. I have some pieces that are about 30" long x nearly 20 inches ++ diameter.. much bigger than either of my lathes will handle.. will have to get out the ol' chainsaw soon and make them smaller.

Those are really fantastic grain patterns.. beautiful.

Showed my wife and she's in awe too.

Hi Chuck,

Thanks for the feedback.

Sounds like you need a lathe like Gary Max! His would be perfect for the chunks that you have to turn.[:D][;)]

Look forward to seeing some of your work, once you fire up the chain saw.
