New acrylic.

As many of you know, I have the dubious benefit of being the guinea pig for new acrylics from a couple of large outlets in the UK (Alternative Ivory and John Davis Woodturning).
John gave me one of Axminsters 'Majestic kits and a new acrylic he has just commissioned. It is jet black with gold metal filings embedded in it. It turns well and the effect is quite eye catching.
I've attached a photo of the result and comments are wanted by me and John before he goes into a production run.

Mmmmm......actually £32.55 incl UK delivery I'm glad that our vendors are starting to stock some of the better kits. But they ALL need to get real with the prices. :wink:

Hi Steve,
There's one planned for the 14th and 15th of November but I had to pull out. Had an offer to go to the Canaries for 10 days, so that won hands down. Forth trip away this year - I need a break from all these holidays.:biggrin::biggrin:

As I said earlier Ian I would like more gold in the blank before I would buy them, and understand this is going to happen with the next batch. Lovely pen though with your usual high standard of fit and finish.
