Natural Edge Bud Vase

Natural Edge Box Elder Burl Bud Vase. Around 7" (16 cm) tall. Finished with Bush Oil. This is the second in this series, I'll make at least one more, these are so fun to make. I'll probably put on a few coats of Polyurethane to protect it from dampness if a wet flower is put in it.

Did you hollow out the entire interior or drill out space for tube?

Just drilled out, some day I'll play with hollow forms but for now I'm having enough fun with form and texture.

I asked because I drill them also. I found I get the same amount wether I take one hour and hollow or two minutes and drill. And the only ones that check inside are fellow turners who know the reason why I drilled it. Ad you are right......much more fun spending time on texture and air brush work like you do.
