POLL IS READY!
PICK YOUR FAVORITE 5 NAMES FOR THE BLANK BELOW.

New 4 color small.jpg

Ok, the technical difficulties have been worked out. Fortunately, we didn't exceed the maximum for a poll. (Thank's Jeff)

So, pick your favorites. I'LL leave the poll open for 10 days. The Winning entry will receive 2 of the new blanks along with the blanks below.

Here's the prize for the winning entry.

Blanks for Poll.jpg
The top and bottom blanks are alumilite. The top is one I call Black Cherry. The bottom one is an alumilite version of the blank in the contest. It looks really different than the PR version.

The other blanks from left to right are:
Burning Sunset (One of Lyn's blanks)
7 Seas (My favorite blank)
Blue Skies (Another of Lyn's)
Grunge Camo (Another of Lyn's)
Tropical Breeze
Tiger Prowl

Someone asked where they could buy some of these blanks. They are HERE: Item #31. The regular price for these new blanks will be $4.60. But the blank will be on sale for $3.85 for at least 2 weeks once the site is open again.

Sorry Bob....the website is back up.

Bob couldn't have known that my 13yr old pup got sick and didn't make it. I placed her next to the other heartbreak a week ago and my head was just not 'website'....

No apology necessary. And I'm sorry for what you and Lyn had to go through. It's never easy losing a pet.

My suggestion was supposed to be:

"Mars and Venus: Meeting in the Dark"
This was my mistake. But if your suggestion wins, it will be the name I use on the website. :good:

Too bad I couldn't cast five votes for one particular entry....
But feel free to encourage others to vote your way, or even do a little trash talking. What's a contest without a little fireworks?

WAIT!! I should have named it "FIREWORKS"

Why is this posting in the premium classified ads section of the forum?
Len
It's posted in classifieds because it's a product for sale. Many times we announce new blanks in a classified ad. I just thought this might be a little more fun.

Speaking of fun, it's been fun watching the voting. There have been several lead changes, and I really like the leaders right now.

It's anybody's race at this point with a week still left in the voting.

Well, ok, maybe not anybody's. It looks like it's between 6 different names.

And blanks are now on the website. Look on this page for blank #31

Wait....What? You're telling me that there's five other names that are still close to "Derek"? How did that happen?

Oh no, there aren't 6 close to "Derek". 16 maybe, but not 6.

Poor Derek .... I think he may be getting apoplectic ....

Should I send him a bottle of meade for medicinal purposes?

I thought this thing was ver a few days ago, but there is now a tie, and a few others are within striking distance. So this may come down to the final day.

I guess I better get busy writing my "Thank You" speech. Only got three days left.
I'd make it sorta generic . . . . . . You know, like "Thank you for your consideration". That could be used for just about anything. I'd hate for you to go through all that effort should the unthinkable happen.

Just in case.

...... Starting to think it might be a better idea not to send Derek any meade .... I wouldn't want to turn him into an alcoholic.

This stuff is pretty strong, anyways ... it's near 40 proof.

40 Proof? Oh man, I was never good at math and proofs were the worst!

The word "proof" has special meaning, when in reference to alcohol.

It derives from the days when the strength of an alcohol was determined by pouring a small amount over a pile of gunpowder. Anything over 50% alcohol would set the gunpowder on fire, thus being termed "100 proof".

Pure alcohol basically cannot exist outside of a lab .... any exposure to the open air, even freshly distilled, will pull water vapor out of the air till it's only 95% alcohol, or 190 proof.

Also, I have no idea who let an ego-maniacal tree taxidermist in here, but can we at least muzzle him and get him fixed? He's tearing up the furniture trying to find a mirror to admire himself in...

:bananen_smilies051:It's official! CRAYON MELTDOWN IS THE WINNER!! :bananen_smilies051:.

This was really a back and forth vote. Last week, Molten Tropic had a 4 vote lead. But Crayon meltdown came back and tied it, the pulled ahead at the end. It was really fun to watch.

Congratulations to Charlie W. for the winning suggestion. Charlie, please PM me your address, and I'll get your blanks in the mail tomorrow.

Thanks for everyone for playing. I'll use some of the suggestions down the road I'm sure.
