Making a pen out of an unknown wood that has a coffee smell and bothers my allergies a bit. It turns easily, and has no particularly distinct grain pattern. Any idea what it is? I know it would be easier to tell with a picture, but I don't have one. It's for practice on a Classic American Rollerball that I don't know if I'll bother completing, since I've already lost the little black piece out of the Centerband.:(

Turn a replacement CB part out of african blackwood, Delrin, polyester resin, or another such piece. And be sure to post pics of the wood - there are some GREAT people here who can help you ID that wood.

That sounds like a good plan. When I get it done I'll post a picture.

Thank you.
