The Australian walnuts are genetically modified for easier cracking but unfortunately this means a thinner shell for casting and effectively no internal walls. So I added some nectarine pips in the middle of the walnut shell and cast in some blue Pearlex resin.

I've also made this one from 2 thin discs, rather than just one, that are glue together and encapsulate the stainless steel 40mm ring. Apart from having to make 2 sides, getting the back perfectly flat and the right size to ensure they meet and join perfectly is delicate, any error shows when you sand the recess.

Pretty happy with it though, now to make the rest.

Very interesting. They sort of remind me a CAT scans of a brain;)

I had a cat once, it didn't have that much brain matter....BWAHAHAHA!!!

Seriously though, very cool. What kind of sales are you seeing on these? And where does a fella find the 40mm rings?
