Hi All,

School holidays have started, and with the poor weather we are having, my 9 yr old son decided he wanted to help me in the workshop.

Here are the items he made. A "Rocket" pen and a bottle stopper.

Rocket Pen in White/Blue Acrylic, and Bottle stopper in cross cut spalted Ash.

He really enjoyed making them, and wants to try something else!

I think he is hooked!!!!!!!!:D

Hi Mark,

He is rightly very proud of what he has made.[:)]

Only problem is, I think I will need to get hold of another lathe, as he is keen to do more.[B)]

That said, perhaps I could give him the Jet Lathe and get a Nova DVR 3000 like your's for myself.[}:)][;)]

I was going to try a closed end over the next couple of days. I may not now as your 9 year old will put me to shame.[V] Very impresive!!

I think your son did a great job and a pat on the back for being a parent that didn't tell him to quit bothering you and teaching him something. Enjoy your time with him, they grow up way too fast.

Hi All,

Thank you very much for the comments. My son is very proud and keen to do more.

Next up is a small bowl.[:D](Need to get that new lathe!)

Tim - Afraid it isnt a closed end. The cap is just hidden.[:(]

Main thing is he is having fun, and I am enjoying teaching him.[:D]
