Hi All,
I ordered some Clemson Tiger blanks from Jonathon,akaBrooks803,on Saturday my postal carrier was kind enough to deliver them to me.The suspense was killing me,even though the unturned blanks looked spectacular, and I knew they were gonna be good.
I was able to epoxy up a set of tubes today and finished turning them this afternoon.
I am still sitting here just amazed at the blanks they are stunning!!
The blanks turned very easily,no chipping or brittleness at all.I used a carbide cutter with a 2" radius start to finish, turning between centers.I sanded with 400 grit and then wet sanded with Micromesh to 12000,followed by polishing with Novus2.
My pictures still need work to match the level of the blank.
Thanks again to Jonathon for the great blanks,I am excited to see the University of Michigan blanks I ordered earlier this week after working this one.Chances are it will turn better than the upcoming Big10 season.

Andy

Nice looking pen. Do you think Brooks803 would have something in Crimson tide?

Just fire him a message asking for the colors you want. It's like having a blank genie.

Now if I could only wiggle my nose and get the blanks without having to do the work! Yes, I can make some Bama blanks...but only when my wifes not around. She's a bit "cold" to the tide, and is a huge Auburn fan. PM has been sent.

Andy, holy crap that is awesome! That one turned out WAY better than the one I did a couple weeks ago. Can't help but give myself a bit of a pat on the shoulder:highfive: I like the display with the hat too. Your Michigan blanks are one of the next orders on my ever growing list to make (growing even more with this excellent pen). Ok, I've been idle enough, back to casting...

Here's a sneak peak Andy. Should be ready to go tomorrow afternoon or Fri. Crossing my fingers I got good separation and not some green goop!

Hey! Just because the Big 10 is having (ahem) issues...

Nice blanks and nice pen.:)

Hmmm,I wonder if sweater vest gray and scarlet jersey are even available as colors??Not that anyone would want those two colors. But I 'll bet I could trade a pen for some tattoos or something like that.

Looks like you nailed the color. You should do the entire Atlantic Coast Conference as a set.
And then we could have the SEC and PAC 10 series.I wonder if we can come up with a pen kit that best captures each division???

As long as we make the Ohio State pen broken in half and set aflame, and the UGA pen a shattered ink stained catastrophe......we may just be able to handle it.

GO BLUE and may I add a Ramblin' Wreck!!!
