My First Wood Bowl

Made my first bowl today. It is made out of a piece of poplar scrap that i picked up at the cabinet shop. The only thing i have for my lathe is a face plate, so I was talking to a friend of mine and he suggested that i make some glue blocks. So i cut out some 4 inch and 3 inch oak blocks and drilled a 15/16 inch hole in them about 1 1/4 deep and threaded them to fit the spindle on my lathe. Tried one of them this afternoon and the bowl in the pic is the result. Hope you enjoy it.

Nice job Keith, what kind of tool did you use to turn it with?

Hey Ken,
I used a cheap small bowl gouge that I have. I was going to ask you if you make a bowl gouge. Please let me know. Maybe we can do another trade. I have some nice mahogany wood now.
