What did you stabilize that blank with? The wood next to the pen looks pretty solid already(more so then some of the spalted stuff I've had here for awhile).

Got some nice spalt-lines running through it, that's for sure!

Thats a good looking pen. i just found a big chunk of spalted wood in a drift pile from a recent flood in our river. pretty sure its maple. It has great spalting and color. its pretty solid so i hope it does'nt need stableized. hopefully it will look half that good.

Nice job on the pen,the problem now is that you can see how nice your work is and
you feel the need to do better,better kits,better blanks,better tools, the latest slam down zoomie whatever. YOU POOR BAS&^@D. The thing to do now is pile up about $1000 in
the middle of the shop floor and set it on fire,at least you will know where the money went.
