I intentionally didn't paint the inside of the blank, hoping that the brass and poly glue would give a "crystal" effect to the clear resin. It seems to have worked.

While drilling out the blank, the top blew out, so it sat for a few weeks as I tried to figure out what to do. I came upon a small scrap of amboyna burl, glued it on, and THAT blew out. So then I tried a scrap of red palm. It survived, and I think it looks better.

Great recovery - it's not the turning that makes a professional but the way you fix your mistakes:). Dynomite pen with the band!!
