This is what i got with my first casting. I just did a cigar band for the first one, I didn't want to put a lot of effort and time into one i figured i would mess up right away.

I think it came out ok. No bubbles, fairly easy to turn, finished well.

Not the best pictures, I know, but my camera battery was charging and all I had was my cell phone.

all tips, comments, suggestions welcomed.

oh, and it sold already. casted sunday, turned monday, sold tuesday.

Wow, what a frst effort!! Looks great. Your pictures are "muddy" because your lens has a smear on it...

Wow. My first and only casting effort went into the big deep filing cabinet.

I really like the pen too. Manly comes to mind.

How did you seal the labels prior to casting?

What adhesive did you use to glue the labels to the tube?

just some thick CA glue.i wiped a thin layer on the tube in one little section the whole length of the tube, got the label straight, let it dry for a bit, then worked the rest of it around. the end was a touchy process though, the glue will rip away the ink or foil on top, so i had to be quick with pushing it down.
