Here's a batch stabilized with Cactus Juice using spalted maple blanks . I wanted to save my nicest ones for when I had a better understanding of the process as I didn't want to waste anything. So far, though, nothing has gone to waste. Each blank was surfaced on all 6 edges after stabilizing. Here are my best ones so far:

They look great. Are you planning on selling them later?

Yes. costs for resin, et al, adds up fast. Just a few batches have cost me a hundred bucks and I would like to keep my expenses down. Selling a few just makes good sense to me.

Which ones are your favorites? 2-7 and 3-0 are, to me, the most interesting but might not be the best for a small pen.

This slimline pen was made with a stabilized spalted maple blank I did a few days ago (different test batch). It turned out ok but I need a nicer looking topcoat than shellac / crystal coat.

unless you are selling them - I wouldn't take the time to put such a nice surface on them for personal use.

They do sure look nice though!
