My wife and I are both tax accountants, so from January through Mid April we work an excessive number of hours. The last turning that I remember doing was for a BASH contest in early February. It is a stressful time of year for us - and I don't have the time to turn. But visiting the IAP site helps me dream a little while working. When I can't turn, and when I am stressed, I do what I can to keep my wood turning going. Mainly I BUY STUFF !!
In 2013, during a very stressful tax season, I managed to spend about $1,200 on pen turning supplies/kits/blanks/etc..
2014 has been a record season at work as far as volume of work goes, but we managed to keep the stress level a little lower than usual. And thus my need to apologize to the vendors - I only spent about $450 this tax season on blanks and kits and stuff. . . .
I'll try to do better over the next few months, sell some more pens, and buy some more stuff!
Thanks for being there. My name is Dave. I like to turn pens.
