What and where is a good (and cheap) moisture meter?

Darren, I don't use a moisture meter. However, painful experience has taught me that good and cheap don't often go together.

I got this one. A lot more than the HF meters but a lot less than many other meters out there. From my research it seemed to be a good compromise and I read a lot of good things about Lignomat.
