I am drying these Crb Dam lanks and was wondering about a moisture meter. I have found some from $22 to $500 I read in a search that for blanks the cheaper ones work OK. I have learned that you get what you pay for but i really dont want to spend anymore than I need to. Thanks for any advice you can give me.

Think your best bet is a 0-1 kg scale in 2 gm increments . Much more accurate on small pieces . When the weight stops changing , the wood is dry to your temp/relative humidity conditions .

I do the same as 1080Wayne. I weigh the wood on a small postage scale, record the date and weight, place the blanks in a paper bag and store in an area that is dry and has good air circulation (e.g., wire selving unit in by basement). When the bag of blanks stop losing weight they are dry and ready to use.

I don't have the time or patience to do the weight method so I use a Sonin 50218 Digital Moisture Meter, which goes for around $40. on Amazon.com.
