I have heard that 10-12% is good. I don't know if that is accurate or not

I dry my blanks in a food dehydrator and take them down to 10% and they work just fine. The low range on my moisture meter only goes down to 7%, and I'm not sure of the accuracy at that point.

Hi,
I have been looking at timber moisture meters and they range from $19.00 dollars at HF to hundreds of dollars at other places. Which meter do most of the members use?...Thanks...Chuck

Ryan at Wood Turningsz has a moisture meter from PSI on sale. I just ordered one for $29.95. At that price I figured I couldn't go wrong. I've been working with wood for over 30 years now and this will be my first and I know my father never owned one and he worked in wood for his entire life. A first for every thing.
