Having given up serious photography long ago I only use my cell phone for photos. I have tried several jury rigged methods for attaching my cell phone to my tripod including Velcro. I found this cell phone holder on Amazon. It has a standard 1/4-20 female thread for tripod mounting. It is mounted on a small ball head from a mono-pod. I turned a simple handle to hand hold the device. It is more convenient than hand holding if I am taking lots of photos. It keeps me from accidentally turning the phone off or doing other things with my fumble fingers. When will cell phone manufacturers wake up and provide a threaded tripod mount?
