Micas vs. Oxides

Does anyone have experience of using Oxides and Micas as PR or Alumilite colorants? The Oxides are a lot cheaper so I'm curious if anyone here has mixed with them.

The micas tend to reflect while an oxide tends to be duller.

Both can be used...alone or in combination. Depends what effect you want to achieve.

Oxides are basically a pigment and will tend to give you a flat solid color (depending on the concentration).......Think paint.

Mica is reflective mineral. For craft and cosmetic use, it is split into tiny bits and usually colored. It will give you a sparkly or pearly look.

I may have to experiment with them. The oxides seem cheap enough to play with and throw away if I don't like them. Thanks for the replies!
