Today finished a custom "Suisô" pen with black "Ohaguro-Nuri". Ha = Tooth, Guro/kuro = black. The Lamp Sooth or Lamp Black pigment used for making Ohaguro-Urushi is also used for making ink "sumi". It is considered one of the finest pigments existing. The lacquer pigmented with lamp black is not totally black only close to black but I personally prefer the very dark gray to jet black. "Ohaguro-urushi is very well to polish. The "Suisô" (Cisterne in Japanese) is an eyedropper, filled from the end. The jumbo container has a ink filling capacity of 10 ml

Best,

Martin
