I tried my best to make some PR that looked like a piece of Ebonite, Not with the typical glass reflective gloss usually associated with Acrylics, I finally got smart enough to make the finial button match the rest of the pen. The pen a Rhodium Jr Retro, was wet sanded to 1000 then burnished with a terry cloth rag, it's quite smooth just not blinding gloss like most of my pens, I've been looking for a softer finish for some pens,I think some woods look better that way, any way tell me what you think.

finial mod

Very nice. The finial button is a classy touch. Can you share how you did it?

I just followed the basics from this tutorial except I didn't glue to any thing I just put the green PR in my 3 jaw chuck
http://content.penturners.org/articles/2008/custom_finial.pdf:
I did rough up the plating under the button and glued it down with epoxy,
I drilled my hole in a piece of left over pr for my punch block, it's a lot easier than it looks.
