I've searched the forum and library for relevant topics, and there are a bunch, but most of them are a couple of years old and maybe not too helpful.

I'm looking for a resource for quality 7mm twist transmissions. There was mention of a Schmidt mechanism and "contact ..." but no actual contact information was given in that thread. I've seen Dayacom transmissions on eBay which are twice the $$ of some other no-name variety. Are all transmissions created equal?—or is one actually better than another? Are the Schmidt transmissions better?—and are they available somewhere?

I don't believe that Schmidt makes a 7 mm transmission.

They do make some parts for pens, usually using the Parker style refill.

If you are looking for a Schmidt mechanism that can be used as a one to one replacement for a 7mm component/kit pen, they do not make it, not do they make any mechanism for a Cross style refill.
