I was in the local MacBeth Hardwoods the other day just browsing for any interesting woods for some pens and ran across a 11' board of amazing Quilted Maple. Somehow it ended up in my truck. I remember seeing a picture of this table somewhere (not my original design) and decided to make my own version of it.
This table it made from Quilted Maple trimmed and inlaid with Paduak, finished with 3 coats of General Finishes Seal-A-Cell clear then 4 coats of Arm-R-Seal semi-gloss Oil topcoat, wet sanded up to 800.
Comments and critiques are welcomed.

Thank you everyone for the kind words. It was a fun little project. I've had a handful of questions via mostly PM's which I am happy to share....
All of the wood was 1" thick then planed down to 3/4" except the legs which I ripped from a 2" thick board that I went back and picked up.
- top is 41" x 16" x 3/4", all pieces joined with biscuits
- skirts are 5 1/2" high
- drawer boxes are 15 1/4" x 9" OD, I did not dovetail them (got lazy), just rabbeted the sides and dadoed the bottom panel into the grove, no glue, just floating
- drawer fronts are 16" x 5"
- legs are 2" x 2" 28" all tapered on the inside faces and joined to the skirts with mortise and tennon

I am happy to share whatever I can answer.

Trust me, if I can do it, so can you! Give it a go.
Cheers
Bob
