has anyone used lignum vitae in pen making i am worried will glue hold the wood seems to be very oily.

I've turned quite a few pens with it. It does very well and shines with a "natural" polish. It gives off an aroma for a couple of weeks after it is finished and most of mine have darkened with age.

Thanks Jack for asking that question and thanks to everyone else who answered. I've got 3 pieces of Lingum Vitae that I've been thinking about cutting up and making pens out of. You guys just helped me make up my mind.

I swabbed mine with DNA before gluing, don't know if it helped, but the tubes stayed (and continue to stay)!!

I didn't even put a finish on it... just MM'd it all the way out... pretty wood and smells great!
