There're BAAAAAACK!!!
OK, so last year I had 6 - 12 months of penturning under my lathe.
As others, my finish was a wax based friction polish that lasted, oh, 12 minutes!
Wifey is slowly bringing back those pens... Boomerangs! (at my request!).
The ones that the fittings are still good, I'm slowly disassembling and refinishing (a few were good ). I'm using General's Wood Turners Finish.
PLEASE COMMENT if you think Behlin's is better.
Please excuse the photography deficits... This is a very green Buckeye burl.
There was a noticable crack which I had originally filled with CA/sawdust, not a bad job, but I decided to clean it out and try a red coral fill with CA. I liked the result and wifey was pleased (can anything be better???).
Comments welcome.
