This is some very wormy mesquite,I really enjoy making lamps and bowls for a change of pace,a few more then it's back to making pens.

Andrew,no,I turn it down to size then sand between centers, drill the 3/8" hole through it (very carefully)for a piece of all thread rod that fits the lamp hardware,hope this helps.

Doc,sorry I did'nt measure this one but the lamp is about 16" tall and the base is about 5",finished with spray can lacquer,the bowl is a little bigger than the lamp,thanks for the comments.

Very nice work! Great use of a beautiful piece of wood.

Seeing such outstanding work it is hard to imagine anyone ever burning a piece of mesquite.
